Further introduction...

Hi!

Can't believe it's already been a month since I started up this blog. Times flies when you're having fun. Or too busy to even think about fun - which is actually what this last month's been like for me.

I've now officially finished my degree with all essays handed in. Just waiting for the marks with fingers crossed now. I've also been working lots - both promoting Lattitude Global Volunteering and invigilating exams at a school in Birmingham.

Tonight I had the second experience in a week of mixed disappointment and excitement. It came when I saw an advert for something on at the theatre that I thought I'd like to go and see, and then realised that it was on when I'll be in India. I did this quite a lot last time - heard of plans and things happening that I'd think would be great before realising I couldn't be a part of them. However the disappointment is mitigated somewhat by the fact that I'll be doing something AT LEAST as exciting and interesting, having another fantastic once (twice)-in-a-lifetime experience.

Now that my degree is done, I have slightly more time on my hands, so I will try to begin updating this blog more regularly, although as I pointed out before, it will be slow going at the start. In terms of preparation, I have 'check what vaccination are out of date' and 'book flight' at the top of my to-do list. It's all in hand though. Then I need to work out how much I can push my luck with my Visa so I can get the maximum time in India, start working out what else I need to buy that I'll need out there and isn't already in the 'travel abroad' suitcase. Only 4 months until I leave now, that seems to have happened quite quickly and if I'm successful in getting a summer job, departure will be upon me before I know it.

In my next post, I will try to explain more about Sangam - what it is, what they do, and what I'll be doing out there.

TTFN,

Philippa
