Time...

I drove down to Newport Pagnell in the pouring rain today to get me second (and final - for now) Japanese Encephalitis injection. The nurse joked that paying £80 was more painful than the actual jab, but she was right! Still, at least it's done now.

This week has been my week off from The Challenge - it starts again on Sunday and then the next chance I'll have to breathe will be the 6th of September! I've spent a lot of this week doing travel planning, but not for India. No, instead I decided to plan a 7-week trip around New Zealand with my sister Izi. We'll be going next summer, but a lot of it did kind of need doing so she can book it while I'm at Sangam. However I have just realised that there is probably a lot of India-related stuff I could have been doing instead.

I'm not sure that there is really all that much that I need to do to prepare, but the knowledge that I have less than a month to do it all makes it quite scary. Really need to start writing some lists, checking important stuff, making sure I have the right documents etc. And on that note, I need a really big post-it reminding me to get my visa sorted as I keep thinking I've done all the important stuff and forgetting about that one. Which is not good at all!

I think I keep suggesting this, but hopefully the next time I get a chance to blog, I will have something substantial and relevant to my trip to add; either that or I'll find time to try and write something about international guiding and why I've chosen to take on this adventure.

Not much news...

I thought I should update again, but there really is no India-related news.

I've just finished my first 3-week shift with The Challenge, and it's pretty much been 24/7 work with the occasional snatch of sleep, so no time for any India planning.

Although I did buy a new pair of shoes - trainer/ walking shoe type things with a sandal heel - should be good for walking but not too hot hopefully. Slowly compiling lists in my head of what needs to be done after the next programme, but not any further really.

So basically, watch this space - in 2 or 3 weeks I should be doing a lot of India - related things!!!
