I drove down to Newport Pagnell in the pouring rain today to get me second (and final - for now) Japanese Encephalitis injection. The nurse joked that paying £80 was more painful than the actual jab, but she was right! Still, at least it's done now.
This week has been my week off from The Challenge - it starts again on Sunday and then the next chance I'll have to breathe will be the 6th of September! I've spent a lot of this week doing travel planning, but not for India. No, instead I decided to plan a 7-week trip around New Zealand with my sister Izi. We'll be going next summer, but a lot of it did kind of need doing so she can book it while I'm at Sangam. However I have just realised that there is probably a lot of India-related stuff I could have been doing instead.
I'm not sure that there is really all that much that I need to do to prepare, but the knowledge that I have less than a month to do it all makes it quite scary. Really need to start writing some lists, checking important stuff, making sure I have the right documents etc. And on that note, I need a really big post-it reminding me to get my visa sorted as I keep thinking I've done all the important stuff and forgetting about that one. Which is not good at all!
I think I keep suggesting this, but hopefully the next time I get a chance to blog, I will have something substantial and relevant to my trip to add; either that or I'll find time to try and write something about international guiding and why I've chosen to take on this adventure.
